This blog is about : Organic Catholicism. . . . . Organic Catholicism is at human scale. It's eminently practical, and simple. . . . . It's back to nature, as in back to our nature. It looks at the world around us according to our nature, which in turn is to look at the world simply . . . . . . . . . . . . . Warning to those who are easily offended, perhaps this blog is not for you

Bunny hutch mulch pile
Bunny-hutch mulch-pile. Over the last two months I've been adding leaves raked from the yard to the floor of the bunny hutch to where there's now about 18" deep of solid mulch. And with the added deep layer of mulch piled up outside against the hutch walls, the bunnies are well protected from the weather with organic heating from the decomposing matter.
The bunnies can burrow in it and such and it's a nice substitute because I prefer to keep them in the hutch during the winter versus letting them run around the yard. Besides there's nothing in the yard for them to eat. Except the bark on the fruit trees and they've already killed more than enough of those.
