We live our daily lives accepting the self evident, which is likewise a Catholic understanding of the world.
We also live our daily lives accepting illusion as reality, which is not Catholic.
Both the self evident and illusion have become so intermingled that it's often difficult to tell one from the other because much of that illusion has become second nature to us.
Usury is one such illusion. Usury itself is real enough, but what usury says is reality is the illusion. Like alchemy, its the creation of value by transforming something which is virtually valueless into something of value.
more to come.
