All of God’s Creation Seeks Stability

As we know from observable creation, each part, construct, or substantial whole seeks stability according to its nature.

Rocks when dropped seek the stability of rest as does poured water. Magnetic attracted objects likewise seek stability within that force and so it goes with all of observable non-living creation.

Living creature also seek stability, but of a different kind. For instance : Plants seek the stability of propagation of the species. While sentient animals also seek stability of satiation of their senses, along with stability of propagation of the species. With each creature having a capacity of self motion according to its kind so as to satisfy these natural inclinations for stability.

Men likewise share these same inclinations, while as rational political animals seek different stability as well. This inclination is immediately apparent to any parent who likewise by nature solaces their conflicted child by swathing and cuddling, where the child in arms is calmed by the security. We likewise seek stability, for instance, justice and the common good are preeminent in social life, but what are they but a weighting of the balance which is a seeking of stability.

The Faith is stability. Our final end. It's the thread which runs through all verses, and all teachings. Mary, our mother forever. Our Morning Star. / The water of everlasting life.

Culture, which is properly social formation, is also a form of stability. A stability of each person where each knows his place and rules of conduct; and is also a stability of society where customs and mores and regulations give order to that society. Culture places limits on socially accepted behavior. And within each man, the habit of virtue is a kind of limit, as is liberty. As is also licentiousness, but that is a different kind of limit by bondage.

Each society as a whole is also a limit of some kind each to human scale according to the type of society it is.

The natural at human scale state is limited by its boundaries, because those boundaries reflect natural limitation because a sovereign state can't be any size but must be large enough to be self sufficient, while also being small enough to be cohesive, so as to be a single substantially whole entity.

Neighborhoods within a sovereign state are also limited, they're limited in their diversity so that each neighborhood is sufficiently cohesive with the next to form the larger sovereign state, while each neighborhood is also limited within itself by its cultural norms as well by size. Just as the sovereign state can be too large so as to be unnatural, so likewise can each neighborhood be too large or too culturally diverse so as to be unnatural, because human socialization requires a minimum level of contact and continuity with others within the community.

All of God's creation seeks to exist according to its nature, and when that stability is effected, change of some kind occurs with some more detrimental than others. Adding too much water to wine will substantially change the wine into water. So likewise with society, leaven can only work within limits, beyond that limit, the leaven is what is substantially changed.

Men by nature seek their place, whether it be the security of one's back against a tree in the park while reading, or ones place in the neighborhood or in society at large.

This is likewise why Tellos of Athens was deemed most blessed, because his life was in all manner stable, whether it was the stability of the habit of virtue, or his living peacefully at home and being buried within his own homeland soil. The same natural desire for stability that is the wellspring of the Chinese curse
"May you live in interesting times"
